Ribbon Cutting Event for Completed Construction on Vince Road

June 18th, 2024

The Jessamine County Fiscal Court is holding a ribbon cutting event to commemorate the completion of the bridge construction on Vince Road in Nicholasville. The bridge project, one of the largest in recent county history, was sponsored by the Jessamine County Fiscal Court in an effort to provide a safe roadway for those traveling in and through our community. The event observing its reopening will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 24th.

Originally, the bridge was one lane, only allowing a single car to pass, requiring lanes to take turns. Vince Road is a vital road in the community, often serving to divert traffic from US-27 as needed. Both traffic concerns and safety became apparent with the one lane bridge. Now that construction is complete, the bridge is two lanes with the addition of much needed safety features. New guardrails and beams were installed, spacing was expanded beyond recommended width, and the clearance span was increased.

Recognition also goes to the Contractor, Todd Johnson Contracting, and to the Engineer, Christopher Horne with Horne Engineering. They completed the project with precision and met all standards asked of them.
