David K. West serves as the third County Judge/Executive in Jessamine County. He was born and raised in Jessamine County and is a graduate of Jessamine County High School. He obtained his Funeral Director and Embalmers License from MidAmerica School of Mortuary Science. He is the owner of Betts & West Funeral Home and has represented the Jessamine County and Kentucky on State and National Boards.
Judge West has been active in the life of his community for decades, also having served with the Chamber of Commerce Board, Parks and Recreation Board, President of Jessamine Youth Soccer, coach in youth basketball and baseball leagues, Nicholasville Planning Commission, Comprehensive Plan Committee, Chair of two parent organizations at Brookside and Rosenwald-Dunbar Elementaries, one of the organizers of Project Graduation and numerous other community efforts.
