The Jessamine County Coroner serves as an elected official to certify deaths and investigate deaths under certain circumstances in the county.
Services we provide
- Investigation of suspicious deaths or deaths under unusual circumstances, including homicide, suicide or accident
- Maintaining detailed records of any investigation and findings
- Collecting information from witnesses and medical personnel
- Collaborating with law enforcement, medical examiners and pathologists to determine a cause of death
- Certifying the cause of death and issuing a death certificate
- Transportation of a body to a facility for examination
- Testifying in court regarding a death that pertains to a legal case
