About Magistrate Slusher

I am Kent Slusher and have been a lifelong Jessamine County resident. Stacey and I have been married for 29 years and we have 3 children who are triplets. I went to Jessamine County High School (‘87) and graduated from The University of Kentucky (‘92) with a Forest Biology degree.  I was a State Forest Ranger and a State Forester for 24 years and retired after serving all 120 counties, with an emphasis in central Kentucky.  My duties were to protect the interests of private landowners and their natural resources. During this tenure I also served as a law enforcement officer, enforcing fire and logging regulations. Currently I am the horticulturalist for LFUCG and maintain their green spaces and water quality properties.

Being active in the community has been a priority in my life. This has included working with and coaching in our school system, as well as Parks and Recreation. I was both a school bus driver and substitute teacher for Jessamine County.  I have had 30 years of education programs with Jessamine County Schools, private schools, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Many people would know me as someone who has given plant and tree seedlings for many years.

As Magistrate for District 4 we have been able to accomplish many great projects. The bridge on Vince Road has allowed for much safer travel and smoothed traffic flow. The road improvements to Groggins Ferry Road have also had a large impact on its overall traffic safety. Safe roads have been and will continue to be a priority of mine. Providing services efficiently to county residents is something that will continue to be of the upmost importance. Many steps have been taken and will continue to be taken to keep our county services the best in the state.

My number is 859-576-6390. Please call me any time between 8am and 10pm. I take great pride in being reachable. Any elected position should be available to talk about issues and provide services to the tax paying public.”
